Privacy Policy

Impact Ministries ("we", "the church") runs the website at impact-wy.org and the Impact Ministries mobile apps. This page explains, in plain terms, what information we collect and what we do with it. We have tried to describe exactly what our software does rather than list everything the law permits.
The short version
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.
- We do not run advertising on our website or in our apps.
- We use no third-party analytics or tracking services on our website.
- We never see or store your card number. Donations are handled by Stripe.
Giving
When you make a donation, the giving form asks for your name, email address and country, and records the amount and date of your gift. We keep this so we can thank you, answer questions about your giving, and produce giving records for tax purposes.
Your card details are entered directly into a secure form provided by Stripe, Inc., our payment processor. Card numbers never reach the church's website or our servers. Stripe handles that information under its own privacy policy, which you can read at stripe.com/privacy. Donations settle directly into the church's own bank account.
Contacting us
If you send us a message through the website, by email, or through the prayer request feature in the apps, we receive what you choose to tell us — typically your name, your email address and your message. We use it to reply to you and, where you have asked for prayer, to pray for you. Prayer requests are not published anywhere.
Cookies
Our website sets two cookies, both necessary for it to work: a session cookie that keeps track of your visit, and a language cookie that remembers which language the site should display. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
The mobile apps
The Impact Ministries apps for iPhone and Android:
- Sermon notes you type stay on your own phone. They are saved in the app's private storage on your device and are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Giving opens in your phone's browser. Tapping Give takes you to the donation page on this website rather than processing payment inside the app.
- Prayer requests open your email app so you can see and send the message yourself. Nothing is sent without you pressing send.
- We include no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services. The apps ask for only one permission: internet access.
Link information. If you arrive at our app or website by tapping a link we
have shared — for example in a church announcement or a social media post — that link may carry
short tags describing where it came from (for instance utm_source, or a click
identifier added by Facebook or Google such as fbclid or gclid). The app may store those tags on your device. They stay on your device — the app does not send
them to us or to anyone else, they are not combined with your name or your giving, and they are
not used to build a profile of you.
Children
Our website and apps are intended for a general audience and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep things, and your choices
We keep giving records for as long as we are required to for accounting and tax purposes, and other messages for as long as they are useful for responding to you. You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — for giving records, we will delete whatever we are not legally required to retain.
